Control4 Dealer in Orange County

Cali Automation designs, installs and programs Control4 smart homes for Orange County homeowners, builders and designers, with certified Control4 programmers on our own team.

Authorized Control4 dealer. We handle the full project in house: system design, pre-wire, rack build, installation, Control4 programming and ongoing support with remote monitoring. Control4 is often the most cost-effective way to bring a whole home onto one app, one remote and a few keypads.

Is Control4 right for your home?

Control4 is usually the right choice for mid-size homes, retrofits, and owners who want whole-home control without the cost of a fully custom system. It also scales well to larger homes with dozens of rooms.

For very large or highly custom estates, Crestron may be the better platform, and Savant suits owners who want an Apple-centered, app-first experience. Many Control4 homes pair it with Lutron lighting and shades. Because we are authorized for all of them, we recommend the platform that fits the home. Compare typical budgets in our smart home cost guide.

How a Control4 project works with Cali Automation

  1. Consultation. We review your plans or walk the home and learn how you want to live in it.
  2. System design. Device locations, lighting loads, wire runs, rack layout and an itemized proposal.
  3. Pre-wire and rough-in. Structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure during construction, coordinated with your builder and electrician.
  4. Installation and programming. Rack build, device installation and Control4 programming by our certified team.
  5. Handover and support. Walkthrough and training for the family, then remote monitoring, updates and service when you need it.

Why work with Cali Automation on Control4

Certified Control4 programmers in house

Your system is designed and programmed by our own certified team, not subcontracted. The people who build it are the people who support it.

Commercial-grade engineering

We also deliver AV and control systems for commercial and government clients nationwide, and bring the same documentation and testing to every home.

All three major platforms

We are authorized for Control4, and for its main competitors, so our recommendation is based on your home, not on the only brand we carry.

Network done right

Every system starts with a professional network: firewall, managed switches, wireless access points and structured cabling.

We design, install and support Control4 systems across Orange County, including Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Tustin, Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, Great Park, San Clemente, Santa Ana, Anaheim and Huntington Beach, and take on select projects throughout Southern California.

Yes. Cali Automation is an authorized Control4 dealer, and our team includes certified Control4 programmers who design, install and program Control4 systems.

What can a Control4 system control?

Control4 controls lighting, shades, audio, video, climate, cameras, door locks, gates, garage doors, pool and spa, and more from one app, touch screens, keypads and the Halo remote.

How much does a Control4 system cost?

Control4 is usually the most cost-effective of the major whole-home platforms, and the total depends mostly on the number of rooms, lighting loads and shades. Our smart home cost guide shows typical ranges by home size and by system.

Can Control4 be added to an existing home?

Yes. Wireless lighting, wireless keypads and existing wiring make Control4 one of the most practical platforms for retrofits.

Control4, Savant or Crestron: which should I choose?

Control4 is usually the most cost-effective and works with the widest range of devices. Savant offers a polished, app-first experience, and Crestron fits large and complex homes that need the deepest customization. We are authorized for all three and recommend based on the home.

Do you service Control4 systems another dealer installed?

In many cases, yes. Control4 projects can be transferred between authorized dealers. We review the existing system, programming and equipment first and then recommend a support plan or upgrades.
