Job Description:

The Audio-Visual Technician will be tasked with the setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment for diverse events and installations. This position demands technical proficiency, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capability to perform efficiently under pressure.

 

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Preferred Experience: At least 2 years as an AV Technician or Low Voltage Installer.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior experience in AV installation, maintenance, and support.
  • Training: Willingness to undergo training and obtain certifications.
  • Flexibility: Ability to travel for installations, maintenance, and pre-bid meetings.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Licensing: Valid Driver’s License with no DUI violations.
  • Eligibility: Authorized to work in the US.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Network Fundamentals: Principles and practices related to setting up and maintaining internal networks, including LANs and WANs.
  • Familiarity with AV Control Systems: Experience with systems like Crestron or AMX.
  • Understanding Technical Documentation: Ability to interpret technical documents, such as building blueprints, basic AV line diagrams, and AV equipment specifications.
  • Audio-Visual Equipment: Experience with various AV equipment, including audio, video, video conferencing, large displays, and digital signage.
  • Cable Termination and Networking: Proficiency in cable termination and working with network switches.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Service: Install and service a wide range of audio and visual equipment, including sound systems, multimedia setups, video components, theatrical lighting, networking systems, security systems, large displays, digital signage, and recording systems for meetings, seminars, presentations, and conferences.
  • Onsite Installation: Conduct comprehensive onsite installations, which include low-voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack setup, plasma/LCD displays, projectors, media rooms, audio hardware and speakers, and control systems.
  • Cable Management: Execute cable pulls, diagnose structural and room interiors for optimal installations, and crimp and terminate audio and video cables.
  • Inspection and Quality Checks: Inspect mountings and electrical equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and conduct sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Source parts, perform repairs, and handle installations to fix equipment issues.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to off-site corporate locations for system installations as needed.
  • Warehouse and Vehicle Maintenance: Organize and maintain the warehouse in a professional manner, and perform mechanical maintenance and cleaning of company vehicles.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting weights up to 100-150 lbs at job sites.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.
